This tree diagram shows the relationships between several groups of organisms.
The root of the current tree connects the organisms featured in this tree to their containing group and the rest of the Tree of Life. The basal branching point in the tree represents the ancestor of the other groups in the tree. This ancestor diversified over time into several descendent subgroups, which are represented as internal nodes and terminal taxa to the right.

An Australasian genus of aposematic butterflies that serve as models for a variety of Batesian mimics.Discussion of Phylogenetic Relationships
The cladogram is based upon morphological characters of adults, as analyzed by Ackery & Vane-Wright (1984).The clade composed of I. oberthurii, I. juventa, I. similis and I. vulgaris is viewed by some authors as the subgenus or genus Radena Moore. This name is viewed as a subjective junior synonym by Ackery & Vane-Wright (1984).
The recently described species I. fojana is added to the cladogram based on discussion in Peggie et al. (2009).References
